From Scraps to Stories: Circular Collaboration with Matrjoshka
Besides sourcing textile waste from factories for our collections at Atelier Irina Tosheva, we also make sure to distribute leftover materials to others, like Matrjoshka Toys and local textile high schools. This keeps the cycle going, helping them create educational tools, blankets, and other unique products that contribute to circularity beyond our immediate production needs.
During a spring cleanup, we found a box full of colorful and unique fabric scraps we hadn’t used in years. We decided to pass them on to Matrjoshka Toys, who skillfully transformed them into beautiful, one-of-a-kind toiletry bags using patchwork techniques.
It’s a lovely reminder that even the smallest pieces of fabric can be turned into something new and valuable. By creatively repurposing resources, we can tell sustainable stories through our work.
